The Art Of Big O book was conceived and designed by me with the text written and edited by author Nigel Suckling and a foreword written by artist Roger Dean. I published another book the following year in 2015 that I had always wanted to do of my own art as well titled Michael Fishel - Creations. The Art Of Big O book was a joy to work on and a true labor of love for me to produce. My own paintings were published by Big O posters UK in the early 1970's. It was a very special time for me as an artist too and I'm very glad I had that chance to share my paintings to the world during that exciting period in art history thanks to Big O. It's a great book filled to the brim with images and stories from some of the most exciting, original artists in the world whose literally ground breaking art work was printed as full color wall posters by Big O Publishing during the late 1960's and throughout the 1970's. Featured in the book are the artists Roger Dean, HR Giger, Mati Klarwein, Graham Percy, Robert Venosa, Martin Sharp, Virgil Finlay, Terry Pastor and many more. The History of Big O Video There is a very interesting short documentary film about the history of the Big O posters publishing company U.K. which is nararrated by author Nigel Suckling whose art is also included in the Art of Big O book. The film includes interviews with Peter Ledeboer the owner and brains behind the Big O poster publishing company and also some of the Big O published artists themselves , Terry Pastor, Rodney Matthews and Nigel Suckling. The video was filmed and directed by U.K. filmaker Dean Brocklehurst in 2012. Dean Brocklehurst is the owner of Rubber Goat Films which is a production company founded in 2013 by Sam Derby-Cooper and Dean Brocklehurst with the aim of producing films which deal with popular culture or social issues. My Book - "CREATIONS" I published my own book Michael Fishel - Creations in 2015. The task of cataloging and searching through old 8 x 10 color transpariencies and image files to find everything was both fun and exhausting. It was kind of like going back in time for me. The writing of the text was most definitely a challenge for me but with the help of my friend author Nigel Suckling editing it all seemed to come together just great in the end. The book traces my career in art from my earliest beginnings right up to the present day. It includes all of my Big O published posters as well as my other published work on calendars, jigsaw puzzles, book covers and all of my B & W book illustrations while working for Dungeon's and Dragon's in the 1980's.
